I installed umbrella seals on the intake valves. Its still smoking, but not quite as bad. I've been told its worse on the driver's side. Both pipes have oily residue in them.

Would the rings take longer to seat if the shop used too-fine a finish hone? In general, do rings in most engines eventually seat?

Did a compression test: All 6 holes were between 120-130 PSI.
