Chip,if you're running a higher lift than stock cam,it's a possibility the clearance between the top of the valve guide and valve spring retainer at maximum lift isn't enought to clear an umbrella type seal.At least it wasn't on my engines, I had to reduce the guide height by a 1/16 inch. Did it of course while the engine was diassembled.
