GMC Serial Numbers - oldGMCtrucks.com The table shows that the 252-22 (125 1/4") & 253-22 (137 1/2") GMC trucks were made from 1951-1953. The serial numbers are in the right column. The serial numbers started at 1001, for each series.
So, the first truck/chassis? off the line for the 252-23 series was number 1001, and the first truck/chassis? off the line for the 252-22 series also started at 1001 (as I stated above, I think this is how the information in the table is interpreted).
