I suspected it could be that a few months ago, and added one to an order for other parts. The handle has a little floppiness to it. Just three attachment points, right? I don't think anything else has to come out if I can get to those screws.
I'll start with that and go from there. Thanks for the input. (Shop manual wasn't a wealth of info, if you ask me.)
