When I was disassembling my bed to refinish the boards I noticed that not all of the carrage bolts that pass through the bed rails are attached to steel cross members, but just have penny washers on the underside of the bed boards. My question is there suppose tobe a cross member for every row of bolts, or is using the penny washers standard practice?
