At the rear corners of my bed, there are uprights that form two sides of the frame that the tailgate closes into. At the bottom of these square tubes is where the tail lights are bolted. On the outside of them, they are curved, NOT straight. I'll call them stake pockets for the sake of this topic. What is the real name?

Long ago my truck had a farm/Barden bumper installed. I'm going back to a farm bumper and installing the left and right "wings" that connect the bumper to the rear stake pockets. The wings follow the curved contour of the stake pocket, and attach to the stake pockets with three bolts each. The "new" wings match up with threaded holes that are already tapped in my stake pockets. I don't know if the holes are in the pockets are standard, or if they were added when the original bumper was mounted.

Anybody know the thread form of these outside holes in the stake pocket? Mine are loaded with paint and won't take a check bolt. I don't want to run a tap in there if it isn't the right size.

Does everyone have these threaded holes, or are these just an artifact of the truck's first bumper?
