Talked alot about offset grinding the crank to come up with different displacements for every small block version. There was also a recipe for a modern 283. All I can remember is they suggested using vortec heads & intake for better airflow. The biggist reason I went with a 292 inline six is because everyone has a 350. Remember its YOUR pickup, do what works for you.
