I replaced my bed wood in the spring. I set the bed in place checked to be sure it was square and sitting where it should be side to side and front to rear TWICE. After checking again I layed the wood out with a couple of bolts in each strip to check the spacing. It was hard to perfectly mark each hole from the bottom because you don't have a straight shot. So I marked them the best I could then removed the wood and measured from the top side. After checking and double checking I drilled the holes. If you check and double check it should work great.
