In fact only the Kombi(VW bus) is being produced today, the sedan is gone since 94 if i'm not mistaken, and it was the same old desing, no IRS.
But the GM 250 is well and alive till today. And it has a multi point efi, distributorless ignition, 168 horses. It uses a long intake manifold that goes over the valve cover and looks pretty different from the old 250 we are used to see.
The performance kiddos here have the 250 as a good friend, the engine is considered reliable and powerful, and GM even used to sponsor a road race series using this engines as powerplants till 1999, now they switched to 350V8 power.
