Steve, we know you are nuts ,, join the rest of us here.
SOme dually rears are wider, some are narrower.
Dually rear ends will have larger diameter as well as longer studs than most 3/4 ton rear ends.
With the right tires, tire pressure and weight in your half ton truk, you should be able to go anywhere you need to go with it.
There are some funky dually kits out there for half-ton trucks,, not sure I trust them yet...
