it would be nice, if you had access to a distributor machine. that way, you can make changes in weights, springs and adjustable vacuum advance quickly, and zero in on your optimum, as soon as possible.

without the machine, it is still possible, however time-consuming, to make the changes described above.

an accurate tachometer, even a tempo one, is needed, to display each change you make.
