A re-curve kit for your HEI is available from your local auto parts store and is usually under the name "Mr. Gasket". Pep Boys and other chain stores should have it. It is the same one as the V-8's use

Installs in minutes, all you need is a screwdriver for twisting the hold down bolts. You can experiment with the different springs/weights until you find a combination that gives you good power without pinging. If it just pings once when you accelerate hard that's OK.
