Tony, I'm attempting to replace a 216 with a 292 in my 42 1.5 ton Military Chevy. The 292's side motor mounts interfere with the steering box and the engine is a couple of inches longer. I had originally planned on an electric fan (the radiator can't be moved) but now am considering modifying the firewall to move the engine back. A GMC 270 or 302 would work a whole lot better but I wanted to remain all Chevy with more modern power. Good luck, let me know how it works if you do the conversion.
