I was looking at the Holley Commander series TBI fuel injection a while back. You basically need $1400 or so for the kit, a laptop to program the engine computer, an intake manifold that fits the throttle body (you could use a 4bbl carb manifold), and an ignition system that can trigger the computer (either HEI or a crank angle sensor). You will also need to install an oxygen sensor in the exhaust manifold. It takes several hours of testing once you get everything installed to get the computer tuned right, but once you do you should be able to forget it. It would be a fun project. The Holley kit is usable with a turbo or supercharger if you change the MAP sensor.
