Hi Guys and Gals
After some very slooowww work (2 years), I finally took my 49 3/4Ton in for its safety inspection prior to registering and insuring. Poor thing didn't study hard enough (sure, blame the truck!) and failed

. One of the problems is the tie rod ends. They are too loose for my mechanic. Since it is easier (and safer), I will replace them. Problem is, I can't figure out which type I have. According to the 1954 shop manual I have, they appear to be the type reserved for 3/4T Forward Control and 1ton + trucks. The tie rod is hollow and threaded internally, and the ends screw in. The ends don't have the spring -and-socket setup I was expecting.
Is there a modern replacement I can get for this unit, or are the original ends still available? Any help is MUCH appreciated.
