Thanks for all your help on my last topic, but I've got one more question. I know several people have told me to skip an engine swap, but I have recently gained access to a 283 v8. I know that chevy put 283s in 57 trucks so it should fit. What I need to know is what I need to do besides get mounts and bell housing out of a V8 truck? Also what tranny could I put behind it.
p.s. I'm going to change my 57 3/4 ton 4.56 gears to 4.10
