JGalt is dead on. There shoulf be screw that holds the draft tube to the block. Before painting your draft tube, try a trick that my Dad the 54's mechanic told me of. Often these tubes get clogged. Seems they were originally packed with horse hair. Take your draft tube out to the barbie and pour a little lamp oil inside it and light it. Yes it will burn the horse hair out, but it will also allow the tube to create better vacume when you drive it. By the way, burning it with lamp oil didn't harm it...you only need a short burn, and it also removed the old paint. Just clean, prime and paint!
