41 has it right. Back in the 50's and 60's, which was before GM refined the SBC engine, it wasn't that hard or expensive to build a six. And you could beat a flatty or a 327 without much trouble. Today, things have changed. Some of us old farts don't like change and like to live in the past. That's why I have both, a stovebolt and an early 350. The bolt does the grunt work, the sbc hauls the mail.
