That is a later model 235 (1954-1962). The oil filter lines might be OK where you have them, but that line on the passenger side goes into a hole that is usually plugged.

Lines are available from Chevy Duty, Patrick's, and Jim Carter and I find the 18" line is too taught when installed on a 1955 AC remote canister filter (but it works). I would prefer a 20-24" line. This forum's sponsor also sells lines:

Some people have never seen these - no need for a "breather" oil filler cap with these covers - but a "breather" cap causes no harm and looks nicer.
