I installed one in my '61 Apache 10. As my truck isnt fully re-assembled yet, I've had limited use of it. But so far, so good.
The best thing was the strait swap for the old Muncie that was in there. No driveshaft mods necessary. If you intend to wire it up as the factory did, make sure you get all the associated stuff from the donor car that you can.
