Unless you are worried about originality, I'd go with a 350. Parts for the sixes are always more expensive and you can get a long block crate 350 for about $1200 with a warranty. Your tranny should be fine unless you plan on drag racing. The 350 will drop right in and if you regret it later, that 350 will go into any number of vehicles. I like my sixes and plan on keeping them, but I also like the 350's power in my '82 C20. Just my opinion.
