Hey Drew, how's it goin'? First off (and OH MAN am I gonna get flamed for this!) absolutely nothing wrong with an F-150 for a daily driver, unlike my own F**d truck mistake-a 1989 Ranger. The 302 is a fantastic engine which will take all of the abuse you can pile on it, provided you properly maintain it, and they are better on gas than the 300 inline six F**d used in these trucks! As for performance mods, how much do you want to spend? You can go with K&N filter and air intake, a chip, maybe headers and a cat-back exhaust-after that you'll be into changing that stock rebuild engine you were talking about. Sounds like your cousin has the right idea for go-fast by putting the 460 in his F-truck. There's only so much HotRod you can get out of something with a box on the back...without spending BIG BUCKS! Why not just fix it up into a clean daily driver/partschaser, and save the rest of your budget for your project vehicles? Just my $.02...
