Does anybody actually know the ring gear diameter and axle spline count of the different torque tube rear ends?
Chevy used two different ratios in their sedan torque tubes. The cars with 3 speed stick got 3.73s, and the cars with 'Glide got 3.55s. I simply found a set of Glide gears and swapped them in.
I have several 3.73 rings and pinions out of '54 sedans I parted. They may be rusty or mismatched, but if anybody wants to experiment, I'll send 'em for shipping and beer money.
