hey ted i've been looking at a product at lowes that is an aluminum backed insulation. i have seen it used on air conditioning duct.it is 1/4" to 3/8" thick and has an o.k. r-value.you really need to put up some photos of that panel ,that, if i recall correctly "you drug out of the woods"
