TPYLE, I'm kind of new to the forum but I have a couple of Burbs and a panel. I think in (late?)1952 GM stopped using solid yellow pine planks and began using marine plywood. Yellow pine is a hard durable wood. If you want to keep it original get the ply. Also they shortened the metal strips a couple inches. Measure your 49s and compare to the 53s. Mar-k probably can tell you more.
