#24387 09/10/2004 7:52 PM | Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 2,773 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 2,773 | GM initially went with a wide gap on the first HEI's, but had problems with arcing inside the distributor cap. They cut back to about .045 and stopped the arcing problems.
