Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 221 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 221 | Over the last 2 days I have been able to fix the exhaust system and replace the muffler, fix the oil sending line, replace the leaking pushrod cover gasket and valve cover gasket, replace 3 studs stripped by the person who installed the tires on the front, paint the valve cover and pushrod cover and go shopping with the wife. The coolest part is the muffler. I can now hear the engine. Of course we discovered the water pump bearings are making a bad noise. And after installing the gaskets I cranked the truck to move it out of the garage and noticed gas dripping from the fuel pump. Dang. Fuel pump, water pump. I think this truck sat up longer than a couple of years. This explains why it stinks of gas all the time.
Is there a fix for this leaking problem? The connections seem tight. Does anyone recomend the dual action fuel pump to help the vacuum wipers? | | |
