For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 1,132 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 1,132 | I am running a pre 1960 283 in my 49 sub. Using the short water pump. Having a problem finding brackets for a power steering pump and alternator. The 283 has no drilled and tapped holes in the front of the heads for brackets. There are 4 tapped holes lower down on the front of the block. I have seen early 60s engines with the power steering pump integral on the back of the generator as one unit but I would rather run the alternator. Are brackets available? I have checked a couple of local boneyards with no luck. Can any of you Bolters that have been through this offer any advice? Most of the catalogs have lots of brackets but how do I know what to order? Weeds | | |
