I have a 49 Surban with Clam Shell doors. A few months back I saw a panel in one of the truck mags that had replaced the rear door ( I think it was of RB Obselete "shop truck") with a Chev blazer rear one piece lift door. I don't want to go that route but it got me to thinking that you could weld the two clam shells together as on piece, add a couple hydraulic lift pistons from late model suburban, and build a one piece door. Quick someone tell me I'm crazy and it would never work.....What do you think?
