Decided to replace my rear lever action shocks with tubulars on the 49. I have all the upper and lower mounting brackets and such.
To mount the upper brackets I made a template from my 53 to determine the location. I spent a fair bit of time doing so, starting with cardboard and transferring it to a piece of plexiglass.
My question is about how critical is the location? If I am off by plus or minus an inch or less is this going to be a problem?
I would like to have kept the lever action but at $165 each to rebuild them plus transport is out of my budget.
