First off are you useing a tubing wrench? If not, it is a must. I agree you don,t want to damage the fitting. That just creates a bunch more work. Sometimes you can remove the retainer clip & pull the hose away from the frame far enough to get a better angle on it with the tubeing wrench. If a tubing wrench won,t do it, you have to cut the hose close to the fitting so it will get air & heat the fitting to a slight glow. When it cools enough to not glow then loosen it.
