I use a Robert Shaw thermostat in the '76 with a couple of 3/16-1/4" holes in it (Drilled myself). It dosen't warm up real good in the winter ('have to put some masonite in front of the radiator) but it definately helps in the summer when I'm towing with the a/c on.
