I have torched them off of cars, still got most of my fingers. In reality, the gas charge is minimal, simply keeps the oil from foaming under harsh conditions. Kinda like a Coke in a bottle, only bubbles once pressure is lost. I'm really not afraid of MIG welding anything except gas tanks, sometimes they swell up & don't fit where they used to go. Brian
