It's been one of THOSE DAYS.....
I've been trying to get my truck completed, Been fighting the Bodyshop trying to get the box painted (parts been hanging on the paint shop wall for a MONTH!!!), Failed the emmision test (needs carb rebuild) so have 3 month insurance on, haven't been driving much as no box/fenders on truck, temporary lamps Bailing wired on, Trying not to attract the attention of the local Constablary (RCMP), Trying to
get vehicle ready for a Truck show on Saturday 100 miles and a ferry ride away...Decided to drive truck to Work to annoy Bodyshop manager/shame him into getting the truck box painted, and the heater core blew, not a minor leak, a MAJOR leak, spilling new antifreeze, over a gallon over the new carpeting/underlay, and me with no tools!!!
I took a chance and since I was only 3 miles from home and the truck wasn't up to temperature yet, I
nursed her home...I guess the exhaust manifold got hot enough that the nuts holding the new exhaust pipe to the manifold loosened off as well so she was roaring the last mile home!!! I swapped vehicles and made it back to work on time. after work (NO the box still isn't painted yet-Promised tomorrow-YEAH RIGHT) I hosed out the interior, bypassed the heater core, tightened up the manifold nuts and am glad in retrospect that it happened today rather than in rush hour traffic or
in the ferry lineup after I've paid. Just needed to vent my spleen-Dave.
