| | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 311 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 311 | 1949 had the fuel line at the bottom of the tank and it DOES guarantee a major fuel spill if the line is broken (or a "drip, drip, drip" if the connection isn't tight). I agree that you may (and probably should) have to buy a a replacement tank with the fuel line at the top. Which means you will not be able to use your stock sending unit. A word of advice is to ALWAYS ask if the threads are metric as a lot of "reproduction" parts come from china.
Always get a 2nd opinion, especially if I am the source of the 1st opinion.
