I have a 62, 3/4 ton Chevy P/U. I read the lengthy article about installing a T5, S10 5sp trans behind a 235 but I still have a few questions. I'm going to the swap meet in Arlington, Tx next month and I want to make sure that I buy the right trans. When I find a guy who shows me his wares how do know if it is right for my application? I'm mainly concerned about shifter position (bench seat) and bolt patterns. I would prefer a later model T5 trans. Is there a way to tell from which year/truck the trans came?
