The handle fits over a cammed stud that is welded to the window frame. If that cammed stud is missing then you may want to get replacement frames. I have one on the parts pile. Send me a PM and it is yours for the cost of shipping. The handle is held onto this stud with a drift pin which is easily punched out with a finish nail most times.
