Yup. It is definitely a 59. At least, according to the VIN but not according to the DOT.
It seems that back in the fall of 1958, the 1959 model came out and got sold and then the DOT registered these trucks as 1958's because it was 1958. I know this wasn't just a mistake because I had another 1959 Chevy that was registered as a 1958.
And now, 49 years later, when I go to register the truck in my name, the DOT insists that it is a 1958 model.
Who are you going to believe? DOT or GM?
