I'm reading Leo Santucci's "Chevrolet Inline Six-Cylinder Power Manual" and it sounds like the 292 with modified cam, carb, and headers results in terrific retro effect for the street. Have a 261 mated to stock 3 speed now, and am considering a 292 with some type of GM automatic.
