Why not go all the way to duals? I had my original exhaust manifold split by Kansas Kustoms, ($189) and a custom dual system built by Meineke with Turbo mufflers. Sounds GREAT, not nasty and raspy like a V8 street rod, but mellow and husky like a strong Stovebolt 6. Duals completely made in aluminized steel with Turbo mufflers installed, ($250). All in all, a great deal for the price, and exactly the sound I wanted! And it will never rust!
