The barn is unused and is sitting on the edge of a field he wants to irrigate with a pivot, so the barn has to go.
My son and I went out to look at it last night and I was amazed. All the main lumber is 2X6 and 2X8. It is covered in strongbarn tin so the boards are in perfect shape. It measures 56'L X 46'W and it must have a 6/12 pitch roof. Every 15" is a 1 X 6 that support the tin.
This should be enough lumber to build two shops of the size I can fit in my yard, so I might be able to sell the extra lumber I do not need. I now need to get serious about talking to the banker about pouring a slab (with PEX tubing for radiant heat). I also need to talk myself into getting clear to the top to begin tearing it down. It must be 30'-40' tall and I am not very comfortable over 15' tall. | | |
