I'll second the welcome.
If you're wanting to go completely to moder suspension/brakes/etc. consider doing the S10 chassis swap. Very popular with the AD guys here. The swap will get you upgraded brakes and suspension using commonly available parts, and is much less that an aftermarket frame. You'll want a long bed standard cab S10 to do this, an early ('83-'87) can be had for under $1000 for the whole truck. I'm certain that some of the guys that have done this swap will chime in with their opinions on it.
