I would say that your flare kit is definitely not the bottom of the line like mine. The grip area as marked by the clamp is much longer on your lines and that is why my kit cannot hold the line from being pushed through.
Carquest has lines in standard lengths with a bending spring on the outside. They are quite useful for the larger radiuses where just eyeballing it is more convenient.
