#22402 09/22/2003 2:21 AM | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | The tube (at least on the 1/2 ton from '48-'62) is pressed into the block and the outlet "arm" originally had a strap around it that was bolted to the bottom of the block (as described by Mechainiac). This strap is often gone because it broke off easily after being bent a few times.
Engines on larger trucks might have had a PCV setup on the tube, with a line or two to the carburetor air-filter housing.
