I would just get a trip permit and register it here in Oregon when you get here. As long as you have the title and a trip permit the DMV here doesn't care about if it wasn't currently registered in another state, they will just do a VIN inspection and issue you plates.
When I bought my '50 it had long-expired Nebraska plates and an old title that wasn't in the old owner's name. They didn't care, the title was signed. I just drove it over to the office after I got it running and they gave me a new Oregon title without any hassle.
Just make sure you have insurance, they will really ding you for that if you get caught without it.
