The side-mounted spare on our '54 GMC is a 6.00 or 6.50-16 Firestone, pretty dry-rotted-looking and cracked, but decent tread. On a truck with less than 80k miles, I'd put money on its being one of the original tires. I don't think I'd trust it to drive around the block, but it's there...
