I've been a long time member, just been busy with my project the past while. I've decided to install TPI from an '87 Corvette on mine, and in the process, I rewired the whole truck, and when I took the steering column out, I looked at my steering gear box, and discovered it is nearly cracked in half. Does anyone know what I can rob a steering box out of that will do the samething, the K10 used its own special box, where the imput fromt the wheel came in normal, but instead of the output shaft pointing down to the ground like on a 2wd C10, their output shafts pointed straight out towards the tire. I've been trying to decide if I want to take this to a welder and have them weld it, or hunt around for a power steering version of this box. Any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated, as I try to avoid biting the $400 bullet on as many things as I can... Thanks... I can email pictures of the gearbox if anyone needs them, Also, this truck is largely original other than the engine and tires, so if anyone needs pictures of transfer cases, sealed Dana front axles, of the Chevy 12 bolt rear, let me know, I'll be glad to send pictures for reference. Thanks again..
