I’ve only been back to fixin’ up old rust buckets since September of this year, but one of the most valuable resources that I have found, besides this forum, is Keith Hardy’s “Old On Line Chevy Manuals” effort. You founding fathers and old timers to the forum know all about the Old on line Chevy Manuals site, but I’ll bet a lot of the new guys have never had the pleasure of spending a Friday night browsing through the volumes of material that is available there.
Yes you can buy much of what is archived there from a vendor and save your self the trouble of downloading and printing it your self. And yes the vendor is going to give you a nice professional copy, (they are rather inexpensive I might add) that after you personalize it with your greasy fingerprints and spill some coffee on it, will look like the original Owners Manual. I have ordered most of the literature that is applicable to my 1950, 3600, it makes a good filler for your parts orders, ya know just to help justify the cost of shipping and handling.
But a LOT of the information I have gotten in the last three months, I have downloaded off Keith’s site. There is a lot there that ya can’t find elsewhere and it’s constantly growing and you can add to it also if you have old Chevy paper in your archives you want to share.
Now, I don’t know Keith, never met him, don’t live any where near him and have no vested interest in his site. That said I would like to put a plug in for a little donation to keep his site healthy for many years to come. I’m retired and on fixed income but, this morning I shot a little something over to the site to try to help out, I wish I could give him a little more, but I’m sure every little bit helps. So next time when ya peruse the site, why not take a couple of minuets and help out.
