46 In Progress - I bought a 25' roll of brake line that I will bend and flair myself.
The fitting nuts are no problem, I can find them anywhere.
I found some rubber brake lines at O'Rielly's, but so far they haven't come up with ones that have the correct ends. I believe I can have these hoses custom made, as long as I can come up with the ends.
I found new wheel cylinders, master cylinder and shoes with no problem.
I haven't thought about the emergency brake parts yet. That will likely come last.
The problem I'm having is the fittings that make the junctions where the lines go in different directions.
I have 2 fittings that I would consider to be 'T's'. There are brake lines coming out of the two opposing ends. The perpendicular leg is a threaded nipple that goes through the frame rail and then the rubber brake line threads on to it and continues on down to the wheel cylinder.
I have two other fittings that are the same concept, but different shape. There is a threaded nipple at one end and then a brake line comes out of the opposite end. The threaded nipple again goes through the frame rail and the rubber brake line threads onto it and continues on down to another 'T' on the rear axle housing.
I have one last 'T' fitting that has brake lines coming out of all three legs. This is used where the line tees off to go to the master.
I was advised by the Chevy dealer, Carquest, O'reilly's and a private brake specialty store that I should soak the fittings for a few days and then very carefully take them apart and reuse them, because nobody makes new ones. I just find this kind of weird that even the long-timers have never even seen these things before.
I am new to this site. I can post a picture if I can figure out how to do it. Otherwise I could e-mail one to you if you would give me your address.
Thanks for responding to my problem.
