Well, high compression is relative, I guess. The 3836848 head is the highest compression of all the 235 heads with the biggest valves and best flow of all of them. It's only 8:1. See casting numbers for more info. The list is not complete on the block castings. The Blueflame 235 is the car version with a fiber timing gear and hydraulic lifters and the Thriftmaster 235 is the truck version with aluminum timing gear and solid lifters. There is also a rare Corvette 235 with a hotter cam and sidedraft carbs. There is also an earlier splashoil 235 offered before 1953 that looks like a 216 and shares the dipper rods. It is referred to as the hi-torque or jobmaster 235.
